NEW CASTLE —
An argument turned serious Friday morning when a man allegedly pulled a gun on his girlfriend.
New Castle police said Justin Jon Jackson, 37, of 401 Neshannock Ave., was charged with illegal possession of firearms, possession of a concealed firearm without a license, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, two counts of simple assault and harassment.
He was arraigned by District Judge Melissa Amodie and lodged in the Lawrence County jail on $20,000 bond.
Officers were told Jackson and his girlfriend had left the Elks Club on Moravia Street about 2:45 a.m. and began to argue in the woman’s car on their way home.
She said Jackson, who was driving, struck her several times in the face, pointed an older-style revolver at her, told her the gun was loaded and threatened to kill her.
The woman told police she pushed the gun “out of her direction” and it fired. Police said the bullet left the vehicle through the passenger side front window.
Police said they saw what they believe is a bullet hole in the front passenger side window.
The woman was advised to secure a protection from abuse order against Jackson and to have her locks changed.
