Two men hurt in accident

NEW CASTLE — Two people were injured following an accident at 3 p.m. Saturday on Mount Jackson Road in North Beaver Township.

The Pennsylvania State Police said that the vehicle driven by Edward A. Isabella, 34, of New Castle, was traveling east on Mount Jackson Road, about 200 feet west of McBride acres, when he turned left into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with another car. The second car was driven by James A. Ladesic, 71, also of New Castle. Ladesic’s automobile struck a tree, some shrubs and then caught on fire, the report stated.

Isabella sustained a head injury and Ladesic reported arm and back pain. Both men were taken by ambulance to Jameson Hospital. Officials there would release no information about either man yesterday.

Isabella was cited for left turn, lane and seat belt violations.

North Beaver and Union Township fire departments assisted.
