Parolee faces new drug charges

NEW CASTLE — A Union Township parolee arrested last month on drug charges now is facing more of them.

Following a foot chase Wednesday, New Castle police arrested 34-year-old Lance Michael Louis of 472 Moore Ave. Police said he was out of jail on probation from previous charges.

The arresting officer said he and  members of the Lawrence County District Attorney’s Office special investigations unit went to Louis’ home after state probation and parole agents requested help to search his house.

The officer said a confidential informant told the parole officers Louis was selling narcotics out of his home while on parole.

Officers found Louis on the front porch. They said he took off running as a parole officer spoke to him. Officers gave  chase and caught him after one of the agents deployed his Taser, causing Louis to fall to the ground, police said

Police said they found 1/2 gram of suspected crack cocaine, a pill bottle containing 1.3 grams of suspected heroin, 30 alleged Roxicodone tablets, 13 suboxone strips used in treating opioid dependence, and $1,952 in cash in Louis’ pockets and wallet.

He was charged with four new counts each of possession with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance and one count of use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was arraigned yesterday by District Judge Jennifer L. Nicholson, who set his jail bond at $10,000 bond.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 fell from the sky in Donetsk, Ukraine, on Thursday, killing all 298 people aboard. Many are speculating that Russian rebels (supported by Vladimir Putin) are responsible for downing the aircraft. What do you think?

Yes. All evidence points that way.
No. Everyone is so quick to point fingers, but there's not enough evidence to support claims of Russian guilt.
I'm not sure. I'll just wait until the investigation is over to make up my mind.
What is up with these Malaysian Airlines planes? I know one airline I won't be flying any time soon...
