McGrath Manor raid leads to man’s arrest

NEW CASTLE — One person was charged following a drug raid at New Castle’s McGrath Manor.

Daymond Waller, 20, of 814 W. Washington St. was charged after the raid by New Castle police and the Lawrence County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force Wednesday morning. Authorities said they seized crack cocaine and marijuana.

Officers executed a search warrant at Apartment 613, where they found Waller and another man, who was not charged.

During a search of the apartment, officers discovered 0.2 grams of suspected crack cocaine and 3.2 grams of suspected marijuana, according to police.

Also seized were plastic bags and $235.

Police said Waller was read his Miranda rights and agreed to be interviewed. He wrote a statement acknowledging he owns the suspected drugs found in the apartment, officers said.

Waller is charged with one count of possession with intent to deliver, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was arraigned and lodged in the Lawrence County jail in lieu of $10,000 bond.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 fell from the sky in Donetsk, Ukraine, on Thursday, killing all 298 people aboard. Many are speculating that Russian rebels (supported by Vladimir Putin) are responsible for downing the aircraft. What do you think?

I'm not sure. I'll just wait until the investigation is over to make up my mind.
What is up with these Malaysian Airlines planes? I know one airline I won't be flying any time soon...
