Woman burned in house fire

NEW CASTLE — A West Side woman was taken to Mercy Hospital Burn Center following a fire.

The New Castle Fire Department was called to 1011 Beech St. at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday

Firefighters said the blaze, confined to the kitchen, resulted from a cooking container.

They said a woman in the house sustained a burned hand. She was treated on site by ambulance personnel, firefighters said, then taken to the Pittsburgh hospital.

Firefighters could not provide the name of the woman or residents of the unit.

Crews remained on the scene for about 30 minutes.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 fell from the sky in Donetsk, Ukraine, on Thursday, killing all 298 people aboard. Many are speculating that Russian rebels (supported by Vladimir Putin) are responsible for downing the aircraft. What do you think?

What is up with these Malaysian Airlines planes? I know one airline I won't be flying any time soon...
