Shenango crash claims life of Ellwood City man

NEW CASTLE — An Ellwood City man died in an accident on Frew Mill Road Monday morning.

Killed as the result of the two-vehicle crash was Lamoine B. Hartzell, 82. He was pronounced dead after being transported to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.

According to Shenango Township police, Harzell was traveling west on Frew Mill Road at 8:45 a.m. when he crossed the intersection of Route 388 into the path of a northbound vehicle operated by Randall J. Giangiuli, 47, of New Castle.

Police said Giangiuli’s 2008 Dodge Ram pickup truck struck the driver’s side of Hartzell’s 2003 Ford F-150 pickup truck.

As a result of the impact, police said Harzell’s truck came to a rest on its passenger side.

Hartzell was treated at the scene, then flown by helicopter to Youngstown.

Police said Giangiuli was not injured.

Assisting police at the scene were the Shenango and Hickory volunteer fire departments.

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal signed “unprecedented” legislation yesterday to expand gun rights in his state. Good idea?

Yes. Expanding the scope of where people can carry guns can help halt violent crimes and make those places safer.
No. Carrying guns into bars and schools is NEVER a good idea. I think it will lead to more violence.
Not sure, but I don’t plan to visit Georgia any time soon.
