NEW CASTLE — Two high school students were injured when a car rear-ended a school bus.

New Castle police reported the accident occurred at 10 a.m. Wednesday on Highland Avenue, between Euclid and Sheridan avenues, while the bus, carrying 13 students, was stopped for traffic.

Police said a 2013 Chrysler wagon, driven by John Meyers, 67, of Pulaski, failed to stop and hit the bus from behind.

The bus driver’s name was unavailable from police Thursday. Police said neither driver was injured.

A female student went to the hospital for treatment from the scene, police said. A male student sought treatment after he went home from school. Police described the injuries as minor.

The bus was driven from the scene and Meyers’ car was towed.
