Crews respond to mobile home fire

NEW CASTLE — The Pulaski Township Volunteer Fire Department was called to a mobile home Thursday night.

Fire Chief Guy Morse said the blaze, which was electrical, is believed to have started under the mobile home in a trailer park at 154 Hyland Lane.

Firefighters responded about 10:40 p.m. and remained for about an hour. They were assisted by volunteer fire departments from Mahoning Township, New Wilmington and Coitsville, Ohio. Morse said a tanker from Shenango Township also was on the way but ultimately was not needed.

Morse said the residents, the family of owner Sandra Gallonio, were displaced for the night because of the extreme cold. He estimates the family will be back in place this weekend.

Morse added no injuries were reported and damage to the home was minimal.
