Man robs Dollar General clerk at knifepoint

NEW CASTLE — New Castle police are looking for the man who robbed a Dollar General clerk at knifepoint.

Police said a man walked into the store at 1555 Butler Ave. around 8 p.m. Friday and held a knife to the cashier’s neck.

She told police she had been standing at the counter when the man approached her with the knife and told her to give him money from the register. She said she tried to open one of the registers, but it would not open, so she went to a second one, pulled the drawer out and put it in front of the man.

Police said he took about $168 from it, along with a pack of cigarettes the clerk had taken out of her pocket, then left.

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal signed “unprecedented” legislation yesterday to expand gun rights in his state. Good idea?

Yes. Expanding the scope of where people can carry guns can help halt violent crimes and make those places safer.
No. Carrying guns into bars and schools is NEVER a good idea. I think it will lead to more violence.
Not sure, but I don’t plan to visit Georgia any time soon.
