NEW CASTLE —
A West Side man was arrested after police allegedly caught him with drugs at Harbor Heights.
Officers said Corey Allen Lee II, 21, of 811 W. Washington St., then ran and hid from them.
Police said were called to the 1100 block of Booker Drive regarding a reported burglary there, and they saw Lee walking away from the apartment.
Police said they had a felony warrant from a previous alleged trespassing incident and he was not permitted to be at Harbor Heights.
Lee ran from the police and officers chased him into Union Township, through several back yards and into woods. One officer found him lying on his stomach on a sidewalk on McClelland Avenue and arrested him.
A small plastic bag containing 6.2 grams of suspected heroin was found in Lee’s pocket, police said.
He is charged with possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, flight to avoid apprehension and defiant trespass.
He was arraigned by District Judge Jerry Cartwright and lodged in the Lawrence County jail on $20,000 bond.
