Flag lowered for Thomas J. Fee


Local flags are flying at half staff in memory of former commissioner and legislator Thomas J. Fee.
Fee, 82, who lived many years in his home on Highland Avenue, died Wednesday in Golden Hill Nursing Home.
U.S. flags have been lowered at the Lawrence County courthouse, New Castle city hall and the city police station.
Fee had been a state legislator for 25 years and served as an elected county commissioner for four years He also was a former New Castle city councilman.
A bridge on Route 376 in Lawrence County, was named for him, for his efforts in getting that 16-mile link of the Beaver Valley Expressway completed in the 1980s.
