Edinburg man faces multiple robbery charges

NEW CASTLE — Police from several communities in Lawrence County are preparing charges against an Edinburg man.

Edward Mark Palmer, 49, was arrested Wednesday night after a chase in New Castle. He was picked up on the city's South Side.

This followed an incident where Palmer allegedly was stopped by a Shenango Township police officer and hit with a Taser. Officers said Palmer then took off in the vehicle he was driving.

Law enforcement is looking at several incidents, but Neshannock Township police have already charged him with robbery in connection with a purse snatching.
