Woman reports home invasion

NEW CASTLE — A woman claims she was assaulted with pepper spray when two men forced their way into her apartment Sunday night.

The woman, who lives in the 900 block of Marshall Avenue, said the two men, dressed all in black and wearing black masks and gloves, knocked at her door. When she answered it, one of them wielded a knife and the other sprayed her in the face with pepper spray.

She said she could not see and fell to the ground.

She was treated by ambulance personnel for the pepper spray but refused to go to the hospital. She said she noticed her purse was missing from the couch and reported it contained various cards and a pair of diamond rings.

Police said they found a folding pocket knife with “Green beret USA” engraved on it, and a pink pocket-sized pepper spray container lying on the hall floor.

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal signed “unprecedented” legislation yesterday to expand gun rights in his state. Good idea?

Yes. Expanding the scope of where people can carry guns can help halt violent crimes and make those places safer.
No. Carrying guns into bars and schools is NEVER a good idea. I think it will lead to more violence.
Not sure, but I don’t plan to visit Georgia any time soon.
