NEW CASTLE — A man being booked at the Lawrence County jail is facing more charges for allegedly being uncooperative.
Edward Kamel Abraham, 32, whose last known address is 319 S. Croton Ave., was charged with aggravated and simple assault and harassment after he allegedly refused to answer questions of the booking officer at the jail and took a swing at him.
Dispatched to a domestic dispute on Halco Drive about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, New Castle police determined Abraham was wanted on a warrant in Butler County. He was taken to the jail to await extradition.
Police said Abraham became abusive when the booking jail guard questioned him. Police said when the guard removed handcuffs from one of Abraham’s arms, Abraham took a swing at the officer and began fighting with other guards, requiring several guards and the arresting police officer to control him.
