Woman arrested for prostitution

NEW CASTLE —

A woman who allegedly solicited police on the city’s South Side was arrested for prostitution.

Darlene C. Doran, 57, of 219 N. Beaver St. was walking near an intersection on the city’s South Side around midnight Sunday when the police in an unmarked vehicle asked her if she was working. She got into the front seat of the car and told an undercover officer that she usually sees the same three guys. She then offered the officer favors for $20, according to reports.

She was arrested by the New Castle police special response team and charged with prostitution and related offenses, then released, pending her court date.
