NEW CASTLE —
Police said a man hid on the roof of a house when officers arrived to search for suspected drugs.
New Castle police reported they took two Detroit men into custody after finding crack cocaine, heroin, money and drug paraphernalia at 822 Morton St. around 4:50 p.m. Friday.
Police said Jason Raymond Glass, 32, was lying on the roof just outside of the bathroom window and was ordered back into the house.
Terrell Keith Glass, 34, was on the living room couch when members of the Lawrence County Drug Task Force and city special entry team entered.
Three others who were in the house are not being charged at this time, according to New Castle police.
Upon arresting Terrell Glass, officers said, they found he had $700 in his pocket. Another $835 was found inside the toilet tank in the bathroom.
Police said they confiscated 2.8 grams of suspected crack cocaine that was in open view on a coffee table. They also took possession of a plastic bag with nine folded lottery tickets that contained about 3.3 grams of suspected heroin, and another 1.3 grams of heroin from the kitchen.
Police allege Jason Glass, who goes by “Jay,” was selling controlled substances from the house, and that he and “TK” — Terrell Keith Glass — had arrived a few days prior to the search.
Jason Glass and Terrell Glass are both charged with two counts each of possession with intent to deliver, conspiracy for possession with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
They were arraigned by District Judge Melissa A. Amodie and lodged in the Lawrence County jail in lieu of $150,000 bond each.
The investigation was a collaboration of New Castle police narcotics officers and special entry team, the Lawrence County drug task force and the District Attorney’s special investigative unit.
