Craigslist meeting leads to city robbery

NEW CASTLE — A Craigslist transaction apparently led to an armed robbery in New Castle.

City police responded to a robbery report in the parking lot of a Highland Avenue business shortly after 9 p.m. Monday. The victim told police he had been held up at gunpoint and robbed of a Playstation 3, 10 games, and $100.

According to the victim, he had made arrangements with an individual named “Aaron” on Craigslist to sell the video game player, and they agreed to meet in the parking lot in the 600 block of Highland Avenue.

At the location, the victim said he met two men in regard to the player. When the victim produced the game in a bag, he said one of the men pulled a handgun and aimed it at him. The suspects took the bag and ordered the victim to hand over his wallet, which he said contained $100.

The two men then fled on foot toward Park Avenue.

Police intend to examine video from a store as part of their investigation.

Have you held or will you hold a garage/yard sale this year?

I have and it was a success! It's a great way to get rid of some junk and make a little extra pocket money.
I have, but it didn't go over so well. Better luck next time?
I haven't yet, but I plan to.
I haven't and I don't plan to. It's not for me.
