Man jailed in gun incident

NEW CASTLE — A North Hill man was jailed for allegedly threatening a woman with a gun overnight while three children were sleeping.

New Castle police took Erik B. Alvarado, 44,  of 511 E. Hillcrest Ave. into custody around 3:30 a.m. after having to subdue him with a Taser. He was arraigned by District Judge Melissa A. Amodie and is in the Lawrence County jail on $50,000 bond.
