Woman charged for drugs, prostitution

A South Side woman is facing prostitution and drug charges after she allegedly solicited an undercover police officer.

Adrian Nichole Calhoun, 27, of 1601 Rear Hamilton St., was arrested June 24 in the area of Mill and Phillips streets.

A New Castle police officer on patrol said he saw her walk into an alley behind the 1000 block of South Mill Street and he approached her and asked if she was working.

She walked up to the passenger window of his unmarked cruiser and started flirting with him, saying, “you’re crazy sexy. Why would you need to pay for sex?”

She got into his car and demanded that he touch her chest. He refused and she grabbed his hand and put it on her exposed skin, he said. He then took his hand away. She gave him prices for various favors, the officer reported.

They drove to a predetermined area where other officers were waiting to arrest her. The officer confiscated a suspected crack pipe with residue on it, and charged her with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and prostitution. She was released and sent a summons to appear in court.
