Dog tracks wanted man to house

NEW CASTLE — A canine officer’s keen nose led New Castle police to a man on the run.

The man afterward received stitches for his bite wound.

Police said Jalen Michael Bailey, 19, of 720 Blaine St. was one of two men reportedly prowling around a house in the 700 block of Young Street around 10 p.m. Monday.

Police said Bailey was wanted on a bench warrant for previous charges.

When Bailey heard a dispatcher inform police, via radio, that he was wanted, he ran west on Park Avenue, through a field and into woods near Mills Way, officers reported.

They said the police dog tracked Bailey to a house on Blaine Street. The dog grabbed Bailey’s right arm and held him until officers handcuffed him.

Police said suspected marijuana was found in the pocket of Bailey’s shorts.

He was taken to Jameson Hospital for treatment. Police said he received seven stitches and a tetanus shot.

Police filed new charges of flight to avoid apprehension, loitering and prowling at night and distribution of a small amount of marijuana.

He  was lodged in the Lawrence County jail in lieu of $1,000 bond.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 fell from the sky in Donetsk, Ukraine, on Thursday, killing all 298 people aboard. Many are speculating that Russian rebels (supported by Vladimir Putin) are responsible for downing the aircraft. What do you think?

Yes. All evidence points that way.
No. Everyone is so quick to point fingers, but there's not enough evidence to support claims of Russian guilt.
I'm not sure. I'll just wait until the investigation is over to make up my mind.
What is up with these Malaysian Airlines planes? I know one airline I won't be flying any time soon...
