Gas station robbed twice

NEW CASTLE — A Shenango gas station has been robbed twice in three days.

Township police said a man claiming to have a weapon robbed the Valero gas station at 2012 E. Washington St. about 10:15 p.m. Friday. He got an undetermined amount of money after telling the clerk he had a gun.

Just before midnight Sunday, the robber struck again. According to township police, the same suspect entered the store, said, “It’s me again,” and once more claimed to have a gun.

The robber did not show his weapon in either robbery. Police said there were no customers in the store during either incident, although a witness saw the suspect fleeing and there were reports of a suspicious vehicle in the area.

Police were waiting Monday to obtain video from the two robberies. They ask anyone with information to call them at (724) 654-2243.
