Woman says robbers covered her with blanket

NEW CASTLE — A North Hill woman told police her apartment was robbed Sunday while someone held a blanket over her head.

The woman, who lives in the 1200 block of Highland Avenue, told New Castle police that was sitting in her living room around 12:20 p.m. when someone on the front steps rang her doorbell.

When she answered the door, she said, someone threw a blanket over her and pushed her to the ground. She said  someone sat on her to prevent her from getting up.

The woman told police she could hear a second person walking through the apartment and rummaging through her living room.

She said the intruders were in her apartment about 10 minutes before they ran out the front door.

Police said no injuries were reported.

The victim said a safe containing $300, her purse and a surveillance camera were stolen from her home.
