Woman charged with taking toddler

NEW CASTLE — A Las Vegas woman is wanted for allegedly taking a 1-year-old girl from her father’s custody.

Union Township police say 24-year-old Shannon Charlotte Taylor may have taken the child to Las Vegas.

They have charged her with kidnapping and interference with custody of children. A warrant has been issued for her arrest.

According to police reports, the tot’s father contacted the police around 7 p.m. Saturday, saying his child was missing. He said Taylor is an ex-girlfriend and she had been at his home for possible reconciliation. He told police that she caused a disturbance and he asked her to leave.

The father provided police with a copy of a Lawrence County custody order that gives him primary physical custody of the toddler, and Taylor was not granted any custody in the order, police said.

Police said they filled out a missing person report for the child, but no Amber Alert was issued because of the circumstances.

They also learned from the Allegheny police at Pittsburgh International Airport that Taylor had bought a plane ticket and boarded a US Airways flight to Las Vegas around 12:10 p.m.

The Union Township police alerted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

On Wednesday, the House of Representatives voted to authorize Speaker John Boehner to sue President Obama for allegedly overstepping his legal authority with the way he's handled Obamacare. Good call?

Yes. Obama's been overstepping his authority since day one in office. It's time he pay the piper.
No. The allegations are ridiculous and the law suit is a waste of time and tax payer money.
I don't know. I'm not a huge fan of Obama, but the suit seems a little extreme.
