City man facing multiple charges

NEW CASTLE — A North Hill man who allegedly was trespassing resisted arrest and dented a cruiser, police said.

New Castle police charged Glenn Maurice Campbell, 42, of 126 Park Ave., following a dispute at a home in the 200 block of West Lincoln Avenue around 6:50 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said they were called to a disturbance where Campbell had been arguing with a woman and her friend. Upon their arrival, officers said, he became belligerent and police told him numerous times to stop his behavior and leave.

He yelled at the officers and was arrested, police said. As they were walking him back to the police car, he pushed against one of the officers, then jumped and spun around facing him, they said.

Officers tackled him to the ground where he continued yelling, thrashing and fighting the police. Officers discovered later that the police car’s hood had been dented in the scuffle.

Campbell is charged with resisting arrest, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and public drunkenness.

He is to be mailed a summons.
