County budget plan holds property taxes steady

NEW CASTLE — Lawrence County commissioners anticipate no property tax increase in the 2013 budget.

A $93,060,686 proposed spending plan was intoduced yesterday by the commissioners.

The proposed spending plan, a 2.64 percent increase from the current year, utilizes the county’s surplus funds. The budget proposal will be available for public inspection for 20 days at the commissioner’s office at the courthouse and on the county’s website, www.co.lawrence.pa.us, prior to final approval.

Reporter Nancy Lowry will have more details in Wednesday's edition of the New Castle News.
