Man, brother report gun robbery

NEW CASTLE — New Castle police are investigating an alleged robbery on Halco Drive.

Police were called to the 300 block around 12:10 p.m. Tuesday, where a man told officers he and his brother had been at an apartment to sell a .22-caliber rifle.

One brother was inside and the other waited outside, where he showed a handgun to a couple of men, he told police.

He removed the magazine from the gun, handed it to the two men, then one of them pulled out a silver handgun and pointed it at him, he told police. The man then pointed the handgun he had been handed at the man as well, then grabbed him by the shirt and tried to walk him into the woods behind the apartment complex, police were told. The man said he tried to get away but fell to the ground.

He told police he got up and ran toward his car with the other man following him. He reported the man said if he didn’t get into the car and leave he would fill it with lead.

The man’s brother told police he had been inside the apartment with a woman and several men to sell a rifle. The brother said they kept asking for the price of a second rifle, which he told them was not for sale. He told police one of the men put a gun to his head and took a handgun he had on a holster as well as one of the rifles.

Police said surveillance video does not correspond to the accounts the brothers provided and the investigation is ongoing.

Do you talk to yourself when you're alone?

Yes, but I’m basically just thinking out loud.
No, that would be weird.
I don’t know. Next time I’m alone, I’ll ask.
