Woman charged with bacon grease assault

NEW CASTLE — A South Side woman is wanted for allegedly throwing bacon grease on a man with whom she had been arguing.

New Castle police charged Shawntay Hope Thomas, 37, of 723 S. Mill St. in connection with the incident that happened about 10:15 p.m. Thursday at her house.

Police said they were called to Jameson Hospital regarding a man suffering from apparent burns and redness on his face, neck and  chest.

He told police he and Thomas had been arguing and he had gone out to the porch. A short time later, he said, she went outside carrying a cup of hot bacon grease and threw it on him.

The man reported he had left the house, then called someone to drive him to the hospital, where he called the police.

Police said they were unable to contact Thomas after the incident.

She is charged with simple assault and harassment and a warrant has been issued for her arrest.

On Wednesday, the House of Representatives voted to authorize Speaker John Boehner to sue President Obama for allegedly overstepping his legal authority with the way he's handled Obamacare. Good call?

Yes. Obama's been overstepping his authority since day one in office. It's time he pay the piper.
No. The allegations are ridiculous and the law suit is a waste of time and tax payer money.
I don't know. I'm not a huge fan of Obama, but the suit seems a little extreme.
