Police file charges in marijuana case

NEW CASTLE — A New Castle man is in the county jail after New Wilmington police charged him in a drug case.

Nicholas Eugene Paglialong, 22, of 726 Chestnut St. is accused of having marijuana at his home that he allegedly intended to sell.

According to a criminal complaint filed in the office of District Judge Melissa Amodie, police involved in an ongoing drug investigation obtained a search warrant for Paglialong’s home on Monday.

At the home, police said, they found three bags containing a total of 133.7 grams of material that field tested positive for marijuana. Officers also reported finding two digital scales and $861.

Paglialong was arraigned on one count each of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was jailed in lieu of $25,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 28.
