Man facing drug charges

NEW CASTLE — Charges filed against a city man stem from a July arrest, when police allegedly found him with marijuana.

Dorian Allen Cullen, 31, of 209 E. Pearson St., is wanted for one count each of disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, criminal trespass, manufacture of a controlled substance and possession or distribution of a small amount of marijuana, and four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

New Castle police said he had a total of 26.9 grams of marijuana hidden in multiple places in his clothing and in a private area of his body.

Officers were called to a house in the 100 block of N. Crawford Ave. the afternoon of July 30, where residents had found Cullen lying face down on the front porch steps. He told officers he had been walking and did not know how he got there, according to police.

He refused medical treatment and police determined he was under the influence.

After finding several suspected marijuana packets in his clothing, Cullen was strip-searched at the police station and officers found another bag concealed on him, officers said.

Another package of suspected marijuana was found on the seat of the cruiser in which Cullen had been transported, police said.

Police received the laboratory results from the state police crime lab Oct. 25, positively identifying the substance as marijuana.

Charges were filed Monday and a warrant was issued for Cullen’s arrest.
