Police seek two robbery suspects

NEW CASTLE — New Castle police are looking for two suspects accused of a strong-arm robbery on the city’s East Side Friday.

A man told police two people beat him up and stole $1,930 from him, along with his cell phone, food stamp card and credit card.

Police charged Roger Nylander Traylor, 34, of 537 E. Washington St., and Brandy Lee Miller, 29, of 403 Shadyside St., in connection with the incident.

Both men face one count each of robbery, theft, receiving stolen property, simple assault and harassment.

A warrant has been issued for their arrest.

Police said the victim reported he had been walking near the corner of Whippo and Chestnut streets around 1:30 a.m. when the two approached him and beat him. Police said the man had visible scrapes and cuts on his face, knees and neck.

Police indicated the man is acquainted with his alleged attackers.
