Parolee charged with drug offenses

NEW CASTLE — An East Side resident on federal parole is wanted on drug charges.

The Lawrence County District Attorney’s office has charged Jermaine Lagene Flamer, 36, of 1214 E. Washington St., with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count each of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Officers of the district attorney’s Drug Task Force obtained a sealed search warrant Thursday to search Flamer’s first-floor apartment. During the search that began around 6:30 a.m. Friday, officers said, they found two 8-mg. packets of Suboxone, eight syringes, a spoon containing a Roxicodone tablet and a red shoe string commonly used as a tourniquet, a small bag containing marijuana and loose marijuana.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

District Attorney Joshua Lamancusa said Monday it will be up to federal authorities to decide whether to revoke Flamer’s federal parole.

Milwaukee catcher Martin Maldonado has been suspended five games for sucker punching Pittsburgh’s Travis Snider during a bench clearing brawl on Sunday. You OK with that suspension?

Yes. Seems fair.
No. Baseball NEVER gets it right in these situations. Should have been at least 20 games for his sucker punch into a pile of players.
Not sure, but I’d love to see baseball be like hockey and allow two guys to fight for a while before breaking it up. Let’s see how tough Maldonado is then.
