Truck hits pole, shuts off power

NEW CASTLE — Some residents were without power in Shenango Township Saturday after a vehicle struck a utility pole.

The accident occurred early in the afternoon along Savannah Road when a pickup truck hit a Penn Power pole. The accident knocked out power to residents in the area.

Crews closed Savannah road for several hours while they worked on the line to restore power.

Shenango Township police had no details on the accident Sunday.
