Woman arrested after lying about her age to police

NEW CASTLE — A Taylor Street woman was cited after misidentifying herself to New Castle police.

Nicole Elaine Holmes, 43, of 616 Taylor St. was stopped by police on South Mill Street near Lutton Street at 10:30 p.m. Oct. 7. She told police she wasBrittany Flak and that she was 21 years of age.

Believing that she was providing false information because she appeared several years older than she claimed, police continued to question her. The officer took her into custody, citing her for public drunkenness and making false identification to law enforcement authorities.

She told police she gave false information because she believed there were warrants on her or that she owed, unpaid fines.

Police said she was taken to her residence and released to the custody of her adult daughter and husband.
