Crowbar cited in assault case

NEW CASTLE — A Pulaski woman is facing aggravated assault charges after she allegedly hit a man on the head with a crowbar.

Nina Christine Heaney, 30, of 7568 State Route 551 also is facing burglary and other charges in the case filed by Pulaski Township police.

According to police, officers received a report concerning the alleged assault on Poplar Drive around 7 p.m. May 9. The charges were filed Wednesday.

The victim, who police said had a head wound and appeared to be disoriented, described how Heaney had arrived at his home, broke out a window and kicked in a door. He said he told her to leave several times, finally pushing her out the door.

At that time, the victim said, Heaney picked up a crowbar from the porch and hit him on the head. He said she then left in a vehicle.

Along with aggravated assault and burglary, Heaney is being charged with simple assault, criminal trespass and driving with a suspended license.
