Holiday programs, closings

NEW CASTLE — •MAHONINGTOWN Veterans Memorial will be the site of a program at 11 a.m. Monday. The memorial is at the corner of Liberty Street and Montgomery Avenue. The program will honor all veterans.

•BESSEMER American Legion Post 638 will not have either Sunday memorial services or Monday programs. According to Tom McGraw, post commander, the cancellations are a result of “unforeseen circumstances and some health problems with our members.”

•THE OFFICE of Lawrence County Community Action Partnership will be closed Monday in observance of Memorial Day.

•Allied Coordinated Transportation Services vans will not be running Monday.

•NEW CASTLE city hall will be closed Monday.

•Lawrence County’s courthouse will be closed Monday.

•PENNDOT’S driver’s license and photo centers will be closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday in observance of Memorial Day. Customers may still obtain a variety of driver and vehicle products and services online through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s driver and vehicle services website: www.dmv.state.pa.us.
