Accident disrupts downtown Internet use

NEW CASTLE — Internet service was disrupted yesterday morning after a delivery truck hit a control box behind Comcast.

New Castle police said a Pitt-Ohio Express truck, making a delivery to Dunkin Donuts on Mill Street, hit a control box mounted on a utility pole on Falls Street about 11 a.m. yesterday.

A  Comcast spokesman said the truck damaged the power supply. He said the damage was repaired by 12:30 p.m.

Comcast customers in the downtown were affected. The spokesman said the affected area was “very localized.”

Police said downtown Internet users were without service for about 90 minutes.

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal signed “unprecedented” legislation yesterday to expand gun rights in his state. Good idea?

Yes. Expanding the scope of where people can carry guns can help halt violent crimes and make those places safer.
No. Carrying guns into bars and schools is NEVER a good idea. I think it will lead to more violence.
Not sure, but I don’t plan to visit Georgia any time soon.
