Man arrested in alleged assault

NEW CASTLE — A city resident is in the Lawrence County jail after allegedly stomping on a man’s head during a fight.

New Castle police arrested David J. Perrine, 29, of 309 E. Falls St., in connection with the incident, which occurred around 9 p.m. Sunday in a parking lot on West North Street.

Police said charges are pending against the other person, a 24-year-old whom police found unconscious, bleeding from the head and struggling to breathe.

The man’s friend said the two of them had been walking toward Westview Terrace when Perrine approached, they got into an argument, then fought. She said Perrine picked up her friend by both legs and slammed him onto the pavement, striking his head and knocking him unconscious. She said that when her friend regained consciousness Perrine stood over him and stomped on his head.

Police found Perrine walking near the intersection of Falls and Lowry streets and took him into custody.

The victim was flown to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.

Perrine faces charges of aggravated and simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment.

He was arraigned by District Judge Jennifer L. Nicholson, who ordered him jailed on $100,000 bond.

Are you concerned enough about the Heartbleed bug on the Internet to change all of your social media and website passwords?

Yes. It’s always a good idea to change passwords regularly anyway. I just have so many, I’m not sure where to start.
No. From what I’ve read, companies are still trying to figure out how to fix the flaw. The bad guys will just have access to my NEW passwords, too.
Not sure, but I blame Al Gore. He invented the Internet, right? How’s he going to get us out of this mess?
