Man charged following accident

NEW CASTLE — New Castle police arrested a New Wilmington man for allegedly hitting a pickup truck from behind, then leaving.

Tim Smolinski, 66, of 301 River Run Road, was charged Thursday with resisting arrest, accident involving damage to attended vehicle, disorderly conduct, reckless driving, criminal mischief and traffic control signal violations.

The accident occurred at 8:55 p.m. Sept. 12 at the intersection of Wilmington and Garfield avenue.

Police said Smolinski submitted to a blood alcohol test.
