NEW CASTLE —
New Castle police came up empty after executing a search warrant in a drug investigation Monday.
Police and members of the Lawrence County Drug Task Force converged on Apt. 2 at 1208 Highland Ave. around 5 p.m.
However, according to New Castle Police Chief Bobby Salem, the suspect authorities sought was not there.
Police did make one unrelated arrest, Salem said, of a suspect with an outstanding warrant for a parole violation. But no drugs were found at the scene, the chief said.
“It happens sometimes,” he acknowledged.
