Man charged with stealing checks

NEW CASTLE — A 29-year-old man has been charged with stealing checks and using them at various businesses.

Ronald Joseph Martin of 585 Union Valley Road, Wampum, has been charged by Shenango Township police with burglary, forgery and theft.

Police said he stole the checks from a business this month, then issued four of them to a store and one to a credit card account.

He was unable to post bail and is lodged in the Lawrence County jail.
