One injured, one arrested after collision

NEW CASTLE — One minor injury was reported in a three-vehicle accident on East Washington Street.

New Castle police said Robin R. Cook, 36, of 220 W. Pittsburg Road, hit the rear of a car driven by Melissa Jo Samuels, 46, of 801 E. Lutton St., while Samuels was stopped at a traffic light at Rose Avenue.

The impact caused Samuels’ car to hit the rear of a van driven by Donna J. Perrone, 66, of 910 Declaration Lane, which also was stopped at the light.

Samuels told police she would be seeking medical care on her own.

Police have charged Cook with driving under the influence, following too closely and not having required insurance as a result of the accident, which occurred around 1:30 p.m. Friday.

A customer near Pittsburgh was shot and killed as he tried to stop a bank robber from fleeing in his getaway car. What would you have done?

I would have tried to stop the crook too, regardless of the consequences. We need more heroes to end this madness.
Let him get away. You saw what happened in this case. However, I would try to get information to help police capture him. That’s THEIR job!
