Firefighters battle a major blaze in New Castle

NEW CASTLE — Firefighters responded to a call on Moravia Street Friday evening.

The blaze broke out at around 8:30 p.m. at a building in the 900 block of Moravia Street in the city.

Initial details were sketchy, but the structure was described as metal building and flames were shooting out of the roof.

In addition to New Castle firefighters, crews from Union, Taylor and Shenango townships were called to the scene as well.
