NEW CASTLE —
New Castle police have charged a man after a hit-and-run incident.
Joseph A. Cangey, 46, of 516 Norwood Ave. is charged with four counts of reckless endangering, hit-and-run and reckless driving after his vehicle allegedly struck another car on Highland Avenue near Leasure Avenue Sunday.
The driver of the other vehicle told police she was northbound on Highland when a Ford Windstar passed her, deliberately struck her vehicle on the left side, then sped off.
The woman told police she had chased the vehicle and obtained a license number, which she gave to officers.
It was noted there were three children in the victim’s vehicle, but no injuries were reported.
On Monday, Cangey was taken into custody and arraigned. He was placed in the Lawrence County jail in lieu of a $1,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
