Police: Shenango woman threatened officers checking on dog

NEW CASTLE — A Shenango Township woman was charged for allegedly threatening officers checking on her dogs’ welfare.

The Lawrence County District Attorney’s detective bureau filed charges Monday against Gloria Marie Quinn, 56, of 711 Butler Ave.

According to reports, Lawrence County’s humane officer, responding to a complaint about Quinn’s puppy, went to her house July 26 and saw a female dog with no tags on its collar. The officer, who was with a detective, noticed weeds and brush growing into the dog cage, amid rocks and debris. The officer noted the cage had inadequate shelter.

Quinn didn’t answer her door, the officer said, and as the officer entered the yard, Quinn went onto her porch, yelled and said she was going to call the police.

The officers saw a smaller dog on the porch that was so thin its spine and ribs were sticking out. Quinn picked up the puppy and went back into the house.

The humane officer wrote Quinn a warning and put it into her mailbox, they said, and as they approached their vehicle, Quinn took the warning card out of her mailbox and tossed it into the air, then threatened to harm them.

She is charged with terroristic threats, disorderly conduct, cruelty to animals, failure to have dog license attached to collar, failure to respond to treasurer’s notice or register dog, failure to have rabies vaccine tags, and failure to produce dog license upon demand of officer.

She has been sent a summons.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 fell from the sky in Donetsk, Ukraine, on Thursday, killing all 298 people aboard. Many are speculating that Russian rebels (supported by Vladimir Putin) are responsible for downing the aircraft. What do you think?

Yes. All evidence points that way.
No. Everyone is so quick to point fingers, but there's not enough evidence to support claims of Russian guilt.
I'm not sure. I'll just wait until the investigation is over to make up my mind.
What is up with these Malaysian Airlines planes? I know one airline I won't be flying any time soon...
