Women charged in break-in attempt

NEW CASTLE — Two city women are wanted by police for allegedly trying to break into an apartment in the Sciota Street projects.

The alleged incident occurred Friday afternoon after a reported disturbance among three women.

Charged are Rashelle Reitnauer, 19, of 405 Bleakley Ave. and Dajoi Taylor, 20, of 509 W. North St.

New Castle police reported two females allegedly had kicked in the door of an apartment and were threatening the woman inside.

The resident said she was inside and heard pounding on the front door. She looked through and saw Reitnauer and Taylor, who kicked and pounded until they kicked in the door. They realized she was calling 911 and left, saying they would return later in the night to break into her apartment, she told police.

Both are charged with criminal attempt at burglary with a person present, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and harassment.

Warrants have been issued for their arrests.
