NEW CASTLE —
Vandals who damaged a mausoleum at Greenwood Cemetery left skeletal remains on the floor, according to New Castle police.
A woman reported to police she had gone to the cemetery around 5 p.m. Monday and saw the mausoleum on the west side of the property had been damaged.
Police found that a metal gate and stone door had been damaged and that vaults — dating back to the late 1800s and early 1900s — had been opened and some of their contents spilled.
