NEW CASTLE — A man who allegedly violated his house arrest and his live-in girlfriend have been jailed on drug charges.

New Castle police arrested Jason Norris, 23, and Katrina Marie Snedeker, 28, both of 225 Pearson St. Jan. 3.

Police said they paid a visit to Norris with Lawrence County adult probation officers while Norris was on house arrest, because he had not checked in to the adult probation office the previous day and they could not contact him.

Officers said they had found Norris and Snedeker in an upstairs bedroom and saw a suspected marijuana bud and burnt marijuana cigarette on a stand. A plastic bag containing suspected cocaine was inside an open draw in the stand, and a notebook with suspected cocaine and a rolled up $20 bill were on a screen on the floor.

Norris was jailed on a probation violation and police searched his bedroom with the homeowner’s consent. They confiscated the suspected cocaine, along with another bag of it weighing 1.2 grams in a drawer of the stand and another 0.3 grams of suspected cocaine inside Snedeker’s purse.

Police also seized 1.6 grams of suspected marijuana and a Western Union money order for $40 inside a plastic bag.

Snedeker was charged with possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, conspiracy for possession of a controlled substance and possession by a person not regulated.

Norris was charged with possession with intent to deliver, conspiracy to possess with intent to deliver and three counts of possession of a controlled substance.

They were arraigned by District Judge Melissa A. Amodie who set their bonds at $10,000 each.
