Bank robber hits FirstMerit branch in Neshannock Township

NEW CASTLE — Police were seeking a suspect in a bank robbery late Tuesday morning in Neshannock Township.

A lone male robbed the FirstMerit Bank branch on Wilmington Road just before noon. The suspect fled on foot.

The robber told a teller he had a weapon, but none was seen.

Police were combing the area Tuesday afternoon. It was unknown if a vehicle was involved.
