Michigan man shot on Halco

NEW CASTLE — A Michigan man remained in the intensive care unit last night after being shot Saturday on Halco Drive.

Matthew Dexter Wedgeworth, 27, of Lincoln Park, Mich., was shot in the back at 9:39 p.m. Saturday and was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, where he underwent surgery, according to New Castle Police Chief Bobby Salem.

Salem said Wedgeworth crawled to 363 Halco Drive after being shot at 361 Halco Drive. No further details were available.

The shooting is still under investigation and no one has been charged.
