NEW CASTLE —
Union’s top school administrator has received a four-year contract renewal.
The board voted 8-0 this week to retain Dr. Alfonso “Butch” Angelucci through June 30, 2016. Michelle Morelli was absent.
Angelucci’s current salary is $108,000. When the new pact begins July 1, his salary will be frozen for the first year.
Based on performance evaluation, the board can choose to boost the salary by up to $2,200 for the second year.
His salary for 2014-15 will be $110,000. The amount for the 2015-16 school year will be determined later.
Before becoming a principal in the Ellwood City Area School District, Angelucci taught second, fifth and sixth grades.
He received his bachelor of science degree in education from Slippery Rock University, his master’s in education and education leadership from George Mason University and a doctor of education degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Angelucci was appointed Union’s superintendent April 20, 2009.
